The Picasso Museum in Paris undergoes a colourful transformation by Paul Smith

April 8th, 2023 will mark the fiftieth anniversary of the disappearance of Spanish painter, sculptor and ceramicist Pablo Picasso and thus places this year under the sign of celebration of his work and artistic legacy internationally.
To kickstart the ongoing tribute to one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, better known for founding the cubist movement, the Picasso Museum in Paris has undergone a remarkable transformation under the artistic direction of Sir Paul Smith. Known for his work on colour and tailoring, the British designer was given unlimited freedom to re-imagine the museum and create a space that is both visually stimulating and thought provoking.
The exhibition unfolds around the masterpieces of the collection through a contemporary lens and was conceived to introduce younger generations to the continued relevance of Picasso’s work today.
